PRODUCT FiNDS : MODERN DAY SKULL

I thought I would start sharing more of my product finds here on my blog. I'm constantly pinning to Pinterest but don't often share much of it here. I tend to pin in themes, usually unplanned. I'll see a pattern of similar colors, imagery, etc start to form in my Pinterest feed. For years I use to create mood and style boards of trends when I worked for Hallmark. It's something I absolutely love doing but don't usually have the time for. I plan to change that because they are huge sources of inspiration for me and I haven't been feeling the most creative lately.

First up are some skull related products I've found over the last few days while hunting for Halloween inspiration. Hope you enjoy! All products have a link.

Leave me a comment of any products or subjects you might want to see and I'll add it to my list! Have a wonderful day!

SHOP UPDATES // BT PLUSH PILLOWS

I have 6 of these guys up in my Etsy shop. That's all I will have for awhile. I have one more pink floral one on the way but after that I will be working on some other things for a bit. They are all different with different fabrics on the reverse and matching buttons on front. If you are interested in a custom made one just send me an email either through Etsy or the email in on here in my contact info.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

ETSY SHOP UPDATES

I added these two guys to my Etsy shop and have about 4 or 5 more on the way. All are different fabrics and buttons. I'm only able to make these in small batches right now at random times so be sure to get them while I have them!

Have a great day!

BREATHE

Hello, my name is Sara and I'm a workaholic. I guess it's at least good I know this about myself. I have a lot of self imposed projects on my plate along with work and daily life tasks. Figuring out how to keep up with a blog is something I'm learning as the days go by but it can be a frustrating process when you have other responsibilities that need to get done. Working from home is wonderful to me but the work I do never seems like work so I have a hard time doing everything else. I can get so carried away with projects that I eat and sleep at really odd times. Not the best for your health. I purchased this "breathe" sign from Etsy years ago from Oh Dier Living. Its good to remind myself to just breathe.

I hope you had a great weekend!

ETSY SHOP UPDATES // KNITTING GNOME IS BACK

Back in 2007 when I opened my Etsy shop I had an illustration of one of my girls I drew with a gnome. I decided to print him on fabric and make a pillow out him so I had a version I could hold. Later as some time went by my gnome took up knitting. Don't judged, he makes some really awesome scarfs and knitted gnome hats!

It took me a bit but I finally made some more of these little dudes and have 3 knitting gnomes and 2 gnomes without the yarn and knitting needles. All will be available in my ETSY shop.

Have a wonderful Friday everyone!

WORK FROM MY ETSY DAYS

Back in June of 2007 I opened an Esty shop as a way to keep creating my own work while I worked as a greeting card designer. I've been a long time supporter of handmade items and my fellow artists. Opening my shop just felt like the right direction for me to go in at that time. I loved getting to know a lot of other sellers and met lots of people who's work I still follow today. It's been amazing to see the directions their work has taken throughout the years.

Unfortunately around the end of 2011 I had to close my shop, something that was quite difficult for me to do but I had to make some important decisions in my life and having the time to create my own art just was not possible anymore. I meant for it to only be a short time but it ended up being a few years that went by. I was never certain that I would ever open it back up and sell my work again but that has started to slowly change as my life has been changing over the past year.

I wanted to share a few pieces of art that I had created back then for my shop. I was doing a lot of searching to figure out who I was as an illustrator. For my day job I had to illustrate in a lot of different styles and I felt like I was losing who I was and this helped me stay a bit more focused on myself.

Thank you for looking! I'm not sure if I'll ever be selling any of these as prints again because I'm really excited to make new art but you never know, some may show up in my shop one day if there is interest.

Have a great Sunday!
