ART PRINTED SCARVES

Happy Wednesday! So next up on my products I wanted to share from Redbubble is this beautiful scarf with artwork by Karl James Mountford. I'm in love with it. I've been wearing more scarves over the years and I'm excited about this one because I love the illustration. I really wanted to see how these printed and looked in person and I'm so pleased with the quality. Any artist or designer looking to print your work on products, be sure to check them out. It's totally worth trying. There are so many amazing artist whose work you can get printed on these and now I'm obsessed with what to get next and how I can style it. I made this one into a quick skirt over my dress because I wanted to be able to see the fun print but there are so many ways to wear it or just hang one on your wall as art. It looked really nice on my bed as a way to change up your decor as well.

Once again, have a wonderful night!

HAMBURGER BAG

Happy Sunday! It's a super lazy day for us around here and I need it! I've been having some eye issues lately that have greatly slowed me down. I am always staring at a screen which has made it worse so I've been trying to take it easy and take care of myself. This unfortunately makes it difficult to get a lot of work done. I'm trying not to get TOO behind so I want to get some posts out that I've been meaning to share.

I'm a crazy bag lady. I have way too many purses and most don't get used enough. I'm working on that. What I do use more often are bags or backpacks when I'm out exploring to hold all my random crap.

I love shops where artist can print their work on products. It's a really great way to find more one of a kind products and support artists. If you haven't purchased anything from Redbubble it might be a little overwhelming searching through thousands of art and products so I will be putting together lists of products I like and sharing those when I have time. I'm huge on craft and printing quality and everything I received from them have exceeded my expectations. If you are an artist looking for a place to sell some of your work on cool products, I thought it might be helpful to see more printed products so you have a better idea of how they turn out looking in person. Here are some photo of my new hamburger bag by Anna Alekseeva. She has more really cute patterns and illustrations in her shop. I carried this bag all over Disneyland a couple weeks ago and it survived getting soaked on Splash Mountain!

As soon as I have a little extra time I will share a list of bags I found that I liked

Have a wonderful Sunday!

GiFT iDEAS // PUGLiE PUG

Two posts in one day? What's happening?! So I've been absent for awhile because lets face it, I'm working ALL the time and I can't complain because I love getting to work on all sorts of different projects but it leaves little time for much else and I need sleep every now and then. We finally have a lot of projects closer to being done at our house and I've been putting my rainbow toy wall back up. I will post better photos of that soon. I've also been sharing behind the scenes stuff on my snapchat : loveoftoys.

So why all the posts all of a sudden? Well I finally have some time so I want to start posting some fun products for the holidays. I will be pinning more as well on my Pinterest account.

I've never had a small dog, in fact my husky Ash is the only dog I've owned other than cats. Now I live with my boyfriends weird little creature who can't fit her tongue in her mouth...and it's hilarious, she's hilarious. So I guess it's mandatory to own lots of products with pugs on them when one decides to own one of these funny little creatures. Some of the cutest pug illustrations I found recently are by Puglie Pug. I picked up this pizza pug pillow from Redbubble and you can get all kinds of other products with the artwork on it. All the products I have from Redbubble have been really well made and printed if you're someone interested in having your own artwork printed on something.

Have a wonderful night!

TOY : DREAM BiG FRiENDS

Happy Monday everyone! The weekend before Thanksgiving I attended one of my favorite conventions, Designer Con. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s a toy and art convention mostly focusing on the designer toy world. I’m going to share more from the convention over the next few days but I first up is the Dream Big Friends now on Kickstarter

“After watching their own kids play, David Horvath and Sun Min (Award Winning Designers of Uglydoll) began a discussion with Klim Kozinevich (Creative Director of Bigshot Toyworks) and wondered; what if there was more? The worlds of princesses and pixies, fashion models and super heroes are all fantastic, but something was missing. The trio set out to create a unique personality in a small plastic body, focusing on aspirational, inspirational and imaginative play. Something that would encourage kids around the world to embrace what makes them who and what they are, inside and out. With all that in mind, Yuna was born!

Yuna is the very first doll in an all new line called Dream BIG Friends. She's also the first Asian American girl to be the center of a doll line! She loves science, travel, rockets, art, design, and Korean food. Her BIG dream is to run a company designing rockets that will one day take her to Mars. She'll be the first one to stand on the planet's surface, naturally. With your help, she’s sure to get there.November 20th  (that's TODAY!) heralds the launch of a Kickstarter campaign for Dream BIG Friends, where you can invite Yuna and her cat Kamata into your home. There have been many discussions about body types and unrealistic proportions and attitudes imposed through children's toys these days. David, Sun Min and Klim wanted their first doll, and all of her friends, to feel like very real characters, complete with rich backgrounds and boundless potential...  Avatars for your imagination. Made with high quality materials and built to last, our BIG Dream is that one day far from now, your kids will share Yuna with their kids. Yuna will be making her first appearance at DesignerCon November 21 and 22 in Pasadena, CA at the Bigshot Toyworks Booth #901.Spread the word... and Dream BIG with Us!

TOYS!

Somehow it's been almost a year since I boxed up all my possessions and moved across the country! Where did the time go? Last Halloween Doug and I shared a short video we made of some of my home and collections. We have shelves being delivered this week hopefully so I may have a video up this Halloween of the toy wall going back up! Fingers crossed! Until then, here is our video again from last Halloween <3

HAPPY OCTOBER!

Where did all the time go?! I'm sorry I've been away for awhile. Sometimes you have to just unplug yourself for a little while so you can organize your life and take care of yourself! I'm pretty bad about doing those things since all of my work and jobs involve being in front of a computer most of the day. I just had no time to keep up with more than I already do which is too much already. I felt October was the best month for me to get back to some blog posts because it is of course my favorite month! I celebrate Halloween ALL month long and may have put some decorations up a little before October. Oops. It makes me happy so why not?

To start off this month I'm getting back to sharing toys again and first up is this AWESOME Abominable Snow Cone figure by Jason Limon produced by Martian Toys. The Cherry version is available for pre order on October 12th and retail release on the 30th. You can pick one up at NYCC October 8-11 though if you're headed out that way.

Have a wonderful weekend!

SO WHAT'S NEW WITH YOU?

Oh man, so we moved at the start of July and up until now, I mean literally as I'm typing this, our floors are going in at our new home. They look good y'all! Long story short, previous people had a dog that used the carpet as it's restroom -_- so needless to say it was pretty stinky in here. It unfortunately all couldn't be replaced until now so we have been living on a rug and a mattress and no other furniture out but we do have a tv! Got to watch my cartoons and home remodeling shows! Because of this I'm still not back to a regular schedule for posting on my blog or any of my social media. It's starting to get to me. I need to have a place to work since I work from home and it's been difficult. On the bright side I should be up and running soon now that we can actually settle in. It's been almost 8 months since I've even seen most of my things so I'm excited to unpack boxes. We will post lots of before and after home photos as we decorate but I thought I would share some in progress photos of the floors because I can't leave my room right now while they are working and couldn't think of anything better to do, ha!

If you're wondering about that weird blue behind the tv, it's a light from Ikea that showed up really crazy in the photos but doesn't really look like that.

So that's our front rooms so far. They are looking a lot better than before but we still have a lot of work to do. I'm ready to get my toys out already. I'm impatient :)

Have a great week!

WHAT I WORE // COLOR BLOCK

I'm excited to getting back to posting outfits. I will be posting other things soon as well because I know not everyone is interesting in what I'm wearing each day, ha! So Here is the other beautiful bag I received from MeDusa. I love the blue color. It's the same color as my favorite car I had growing up which was a bright blue Dodge Neon and the key would glow in the dark! Man I miss that car... anyway, I always unintentionally dress in very primary colors sometimes. I can't help it. It just happens. They go so well together.

Just recently I was able to find all my clothing and I've currently been sorting through all of it to let go of some more things. I don't wear a lot of it and the weather here is different than what I'm use to so I'm really needing to update my wardrobe. I will be selling some things soon on the app Depop. Check it out if you've never heard of it. It's a great source for buying things from others with Instagram type of images. I will share more information when I have those up.

Hope your week is going well. We're half way done!

LiFE AFTER // TWO YEARS DOWN

A lot has changed in my life over the past year and although I don't talk about it much with people I decided to keep making a post on the anniversary of my partner of 13 years, passing. The 27th was the actual day but I tried to keep myself off the internet as much as possible. Today though, right after this, I'm heading to the beach. I feel like I deserve it :)

So this is year two down, not so bad, things are looking amazingly positive in my life. Not to say that it's not still REALLY difficult. I'm learning to take better care of myself mentally and physically. The physical part is kicking my ass though! I was great at taking care of someone else but horrible at taking care of me. I'm learning a ton about myself though and everyday is something new.

Moving to California and selling my home in the midwest has helped tremendously. I really like Kansas City, I think it's a beautiful place. I will miss my friends I made through all the years I lived there but it unfortunately holds too many memories. I don't want to erase 15 years of my life but I also don't want to continue reliving it every time I go outside my home, or inside for that matter. Now I can create new memories and the ones I've created so far have been truly wonderful.

So I've started my life over. I didn't think I would ever be where I am now or writing this blog post. It's been the hardest, most emotional trip so far. So where do I go from here? What do I do? The future is exciting to me and honestly I can't remember when I felt that way. Every place I've been over the last two years as small and insignificant as it may seem has been a huge deal for me. Let me explain, for 8 years I had become a full time caregiver on top of my full time job as a greeting card designer. I lost contact with friends and my family. I didn't go out much, rarely left my home. Traveling was not usually an option so there is not much of the world I have seen in those years. Not surprising, I lived my life on the internet. I made friends there, a community, met people who helped me get through some truly horrible times in my life but I never really got to see those people in real life. Now I can. Now I have the ability to live a life outside my computer, as hard as it may be. I'm a introverted person already and I don't care who you are, if you never go out into the world much, when you finally do it can be amazing but also overwhelming. It takes a lot out of me meeting new people and going new places BUT...I don't give up. I'm determined to live my life.

I'm excited for what the future holds. Some crazy wonderful things have already happened. I met my amazing, caring, patient boyfriend and now we are living in California with our soon to be 3 pet family. I live by a beach you guys! Never in my wildest dreams did I think that would happen. I can just feel the stress leave my body. Amazing. I'm also secretly hoping it makes friends come visit me out here. I missed a lot of years with them and I don't want to miss any more.

I hope you have a wonderful day and if it's not, keep pushing each day until it is.

WHAT i WORE // MEDUSA BAGS

Happy Friday! Woo hoo! I'm finally able to take some time to post more outfit photos again and I wanted to share some awesome bags from MeDusa. I love the bright colors they have and there is a rainbow of colors to choose from. I'm also a huge fan the embossed designs they have in the material used. I had a really difficult time picking my favorites. If you check out their instagram account you can see how that pattern was used to press into cookies! How cool! I love when people create things using something you wouldn't normally think of. The quality is great as well and I have been using both of mine all the time recently with no problems so far.

I didn't want to post all the photos at once because it was just too much. I will have a new post up here soon with the other bag. But first up, this really fun backpack that's perfect for a laptop and sketchbooks! I've been looking for some backpacks recently and this one is definitely unique.

PiNEAPPLE BANDiTS

Happy Tuesday! I wanted to post this sooner but unfortunately my days have been crazy and I just can't move as fast as I use to.

My friend and co worker at Hallmark Allie Rotenberg (we both no longer work there) has some awesome products she collaborated on with 5 Points. Her Pineapple Bandits collection are so fun. They created some 3D printed figures in a few different styles and of course I needed them in my collection. I love their derpy expressions and imagine them being really terrible at actually being bandits. I want to hang out with them.

Be sure to check the 5 Points pop up shop currently in Venice Beach if you're in the area. Also check out their other product they carry. I love all of it! Such beautiful work. I can't wait to add some to our new home.

See more on instagram @weare5points  and Allie's instagram feed @allie_ro

Have a great day!

GOODBY SAN JOSE

Whoa, how did so much time pass? I'm pretty good a falling off the planet for awhile. You get it right? Work and then trying to move again completely wiped me out of getting much else done. It took me an entire week to recover from this last move, okay, I'm still actually recovering two weeks later -_- I'm so old...okay, out of shape but it's making me feel super old!

So recap, I moved out to San Jose, CA at the start of the year to live with my boyfriend of almost two years now, whom I met on Instagram of all places. Yeah, I know what you're thinking, but is it really that weird nowadays to meet people on line? It's not. I've met some of my best friends on line so why wouldn't I find a boyfriend that way? Well I did. A pretty darn great one. So I boxed up my 4 bedroom house in Kansas City, way too much space for me, and drove me and my clothes, out to California. Everything else I owned has been in storage for the past 6 months! I have no clue where anything is so I'm ready to finally be able to get things out of boxes. Thanks to my wonderful parents, my house was sold and my pets have been having fun at their grandparents house until we had a larger place for all of us to live.

So 6 months have gone by and I really miss my pets and I'm really wanting to call a place "ours" since I've been living in Doug's loft since January. Well, we finally were able to move to a larger place. It's in Santa Cruz and the one place I instantly fell in love with when I had visited Doug in the past. It's by the water and I feel totally comfortable and at home here. I will share photos and our new space soon. We have a lot of work to get done. Our floors are being replaced due to previous people having a dog that used the carpet as its personal bathroom. Let's just say it doesn't smell like roses in here and there is not an air conditioner so heat is not helping with the lovely pee aroma we currently have. So that's getting fixed and then we can FINALLY get our things out of boxes and feel like we have a home together. I'm so excited to decorate.

I wanted to share some photos of Doug's loft. I am so happy I got to live in a loft with brick walls and exposed beams, even if it was only for half a year. I've always dreamed of having a loft.

Miffy needed to make an appearance... Until we meet again loft! You are pretty great!

Have a great Tuesday!
